Curricular Note

Inês Lobo is a Portuguese Architect and founder of Inês Lobo Architects, based in Lisbon. She has a degree in Architecture (FA UTL, 1989).

Inês Lobo work as an architect has been presented in international exhibitions, such as “OVERLAPPPINGS. Six Portuguese Architecture Studios” in the RIBA Royal Institute of British Architects in London, UK (2009); “Reporting from the front” (2016), “Free Space” (2018) both in the Venice Architecture Biennale, Italy, and “Related Paths” in Nihonbashi House gallery in Osaka, Japan (2025).

In 2005, 2011, 2018 and 2020 she was nominated for the European Architecture Prize Mies van der Rohe European Award. She was awarded the Arc Vision Women in Architecture Prize in 2014 and the AICA Architecture Prize in 2017.
Inês Lobo is professor of Architecture at Da/ UAL Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa since 2001.

She was Visiting Professor at UNAV Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura, Universidad de Navarra, Pamplona, Spain (2019), IUAV School of Architecture of Venice, Italy (2021) and Escola da Cidade, S.Paulo, Brazil (2018 and 2022).
She has published several books: “Lisbon Ground” (2012), “Public Spaces” (Casa da Cerca 2015), “Atlas da Almirante Reis” (Tinta da China 2020), scientific articles, has curated exhibitions such as the Portuguese Representation in the Venice Biennale (2012) and was the Portuguese delegate of the VIII BIAU Ibero-American Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism (2012).

Her work as an architect has been published in international magazines such as 2G (Spain), A10 (the Netherlands), Casabella (Italy), Summa + (Italy), Darco (Portugal), Wallpaper (UK), among others.

She has been invited as keynote speaker at some leading universities and institutions such as Escola da Cidade, S. Paulo (Brazil); IUAV School of Architecture of Venice (Italy); UNAV Universidad de Navarra, Pamplona (Spain); Faculty of Architecture of Porto (Portugal) and Museum of Art of Osaka (Japan) among others.

She is Member of the Advisory Board of the Arpad Szenes – Vieira da Silva Foundation since 2022 and Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Lisbon Architecture Triennial since 2024.
